"Beauty is all around us…                                  all we have to do is open our eyes."                                                                                                                                           Anthony Hayes I believe there’s a difference between a Picture and a Portrait.  A Picture is an image whether visible or not.  A portrait on the other hands connects the soul and emotions revealing the two to create that one radiant moment, capture in time. Rain Water

Image
This photo was taken at work after a rain storm from the top of my truck liner. It was night and without a flash.  The photo was taken with my cell phone, Samsung S4, 13 mp. I liked the photo so, I used it for a backdrop on my cell.

I took a vacation Tuesday 6-4-13 to support the UMWA event that took place in Henderson, KY at Central Park. It started at 10: am. There was very big present of Police Officers from Kentucky State Police, County Sheriff to our local City Police. It was a very eye opener rally. It’s just shameful how Patriot Coal wants to reduce pension and health care benefits for the 4,000 people. Here are a few pictures that I shot with the Samsung S4, 13MP cellphone camera. To view the rest, go the www.anthonyhayesphotography.com and click on “On Line Ordering”, then click on UMWA. Any picture is for sale. I can mail them to you or you can call me at 270-577-9857, or email me at airborne803@gmail.com .   I was telling the Chief of the Sheriff Department how clean and presentable his officer’s car was. That says a lot about a department. One word, Classy.

Friday morning 4-19-13, I had a model come to the studio, she was a neighborhood kid. But this kid grew up into a beautiful young lady.  This photo I like because of how I had the l ights arranged where every part of her face, neck, hair and back and under her chin are lit up. One light falls off as the other lights pick  up the sector in which it was design to do . I used 6 lights, (wrap around), with this model. The photo on the left as you can see two lights and a form board reflectors to pick up the lights under her chin.                                                                     ...

2-11-12 I had the pleasure of stepping in for the first time, in the New Ford Center in Evansville, IN. What a beautiful building. The architectural layout design is very nice. I got there at 5:00, found a parking space about 60’ from the building, got into and conversation with a parking attendant. He was a really cool guy. So as I was told that the doors open at 6:00. I looked around and people were arriving before I got there. I’m thinking to myself, “how come they don’t open the doors and let the people in?” Not in the main auditorium so people can purchase items. These are the people supporting these venues which help produce jobs and put money back in the Evansville economy. Well I took two cameras into the Ford Center and found my seat. Two hockey players got into a fight, and I was thinking why? So I felt a tap on my right shoulder and this gentleman asks me, “Are you a professional photographer?” I thought to myself, did my cameras gave it away or was it the name on the back o...

This young lady came into the studio months ago and was inquiring about seniors pictures. She had on shorts and flops. But the day she walked in the studio to take her pictures, I had to look almost 3 times at her. I was saying to myself, “is this the same young lady?” She took some wonderful photo. The session was full of laughs. One photo will be posted in my window next week, 24’’x36’’canvas. She had a sleek style and it flowed in the camera.

I had the pleasure of shooting a young man, a senior. The shoot went well. As a professional photographer you have to find that connection with your client to bring out that inner soul of what it is saying, then put it on film/digitalize it.

I went out this evening to photograph snow scenery as it fell downtown Henderson, KY.

This shot gave me the creeps. As I walking close to it, I felt really strange. Almost as she was trying to say something to me. I been shooting for years there, but for some reason it felt weird.

This is a young lady and her friend that I photographed last Saturday. The session went well.

I’m listing to a song Abraham, Martin, & John. Will we as a country, ever live in peace?

This is a photograph of a senior this year. I like the tone and the composition of the picture. I hate using flash. It takes the mood away from what I feel when I look through the camera.

This picture I shot in 07, in Henderson, KY down off the Ohio River near the bottoms. I like this picture and hate it. That is why I named it, Love and Hate.” It teaches both. What happened out in Tucson Arizona, it's sad. Maybe we all can learn something from all that hurt.

This is a photograph that I shot in 06. The older gentleman was sitting on a bench across from my old studio down on Water Street. We started talking, and he had me laughing. But one thing he said about Henderson. “The land of opportunity to nowhere.” I wonder why those words? I hope he’s ok.

On my way back from the store, I saw something that caught my photojournalism eye. I had to stop and capture this on digital. This photo says a lot to me.

It was just a beautiful day 10-25-10 that my photojournalism wanted to come out. So I set out looking and came across 3 young boys near my neighborhood playing in debris and as the young one had on rubber boots. I had to smile at them because I thought of myself when I was that size. I had a ball.

Me on the left, Johnson, and Kelly is on the right, before a day jump from a C-130. That’s me with a sniper weapon; boy that girl can go out and reach you.

We had a wonderful time with the grand girls this weekend 7-23,24,10. I brought them down to our new studio at 303 First Street. They both photographed so beautiful and natural.
