A H Photography

For the past month I’ve been watching this spider from out my kitchen window. There were two fly’s it caught. I notice it spun a web around both flies. I looked closely and notice something on one of the cocoons, so I grab my camera and put on my 60mm micro lens and saw a lot of baby spiders feeding on that one cocoon. I thought was something to see.

I had the pleasure to capture a friend of mine daughter’s wedding in Audubon State Park August 1 2009. He had shown me kindness when we work together. So I wanted to return that kindness in my way. This evening 5-25-09 while at my studio I decided to closed up shop to attended the Henderson, Ky Memorial Day Ceremony at the Central Park. As a photographer, I got some pretty good shots. But while looking through the lenses to focus, something was missing. Not one black participant. No black speaker, No blacks firing in the 21 gun salute. That is disturbing because I am a Veteran. I spent 4 years in the 82 nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg , NC . I was in the Grenada Invasion in 83. So I got home and watching MSNBC News there was a segment on “The Unforgotten Soldiers.” These were the black WW2 Soldiers that history turned their heads again on. It never made the History Books. Next year, I hope that those that put this program together will not turn their head, and fine those Unforgotten soldiers that helped wrote History.

"I Was There" Oh what a sight to see and behold. I can say through the help of the Lord, I was there. I was there, January 20, 2009 in Washington DC to experience something that was never taught in the text books. Never was I taught to believe that any person especially of color could one day be the President of the United States of America . I drove to Baltimore Saturday morning on the 17 th , and stayed with my sister and her family. We got up and drove to Washington DC Monday 19 th . I wanted to take pictures of that day because that was as close as I was going to get because I did not have a ticket. I took 3 cameras, 2 Nikon digital and 1 Nikon film. The photos I took in DC were nice but that same day, we drove to Arlington and I wanted to photograph President Kennedy grave site, and the changing of the Guards. Tuesday 9th, I had the pleasure to photograph a young 24 year old female model name Molly. She came to my studio at 132 N. Water St. She told me especially "I don't want any Wal-Mart photos." I smile at her and shook my head gently from left to right and responded with a laugh and said "no mam, I don't shoot that way." This young lady was a super natural. Transforming as a prism of light in a blink of an eye, in which a model must have today. I shot over 1,200 photos, No change of clothing, No props. ( which I don't believe in. Props, they are for holding up something that can't stand on their own.) No hair stylist, No makeup artist, we both made it work with what we had that day. I shot over 100 pictures until we both got a feel for each other and the camera. After that, it went fast. I went out this morning 9-19-08 headed south with my cameras to find something to photograph. As I was on the highway I saw a man on a bike, so I turned around and we talked and he told me he was a preacher. I asked him if I could snap a picture or two. Click,Click. So then I headed back to Henderson. I somehow was drawn to the Power & Light building so I grabbed my cameras and took a few shots. No tripod, just handheld. It’s sad that those folks will be losing their jobs at the end of this year.

I went out this morning 8-22-08 to photograph and just to think. I had a friend on mind that passed 8-18-08 Monday morning in Evansville, In. Life is so fragile. That’s why I shoot. Capture the moment while we can. This is one of the pictures that I shot of the Delta Queen and a one at JJAP.
